Lazy Arayes (Meat Tortillas)

 
 
 
 

Ingredients

  • ~2 lb Ground Meat (85/15 turkey or chicken is my favorite)

  • ~16-20 Tortillas (8” work well, thick ones like Misson brand)

  • ~1 Onion

  • Spices

  • ~4 TBSP Flour

Process

  1. Place meat in bowl

  2. Grate or finely dice the onion and add to bowl

    1. optionally cook the onions first, not needed, but can make end product less sloppy if desired

  3. Add spices to bowl (cumin, sazon, coriander, cayenne, garam masala, what ever you want)

  4. Optionally add flour, I feel like this helps trap the moisture during cooking, but who knows.

  5. Spread a thin layer on 1 half of a tortilla, then close the tortilla. Continue until all tortillas are filled

  6. Optionally freeze the meat pockets, place on sheet tray in freezer uncovered for a few hours so the wont stick together when you transfer to a plastic bag for longer storage.

  7. Cook, place in a pan on the stove until cooked, flip when necessary
